At Goatsbridge, fish welfare is our top priority. We are committed to ensuring our trout thrive in optimal conditions, with clean, well-oxygenated water and plenty of space to swim and grow. Our team closely monitors water quality and fish health daily, implementing sustainable farming practices to minimise stress and encourage natural behaviours. By prioritising fish welfare, we not only uphold ethical standards but also produce high-quality, healthy Rainbow Trout for our customers. "Happy Fish" is our motto.
At our Rainbow Trout farm, we take pride in using high-quality, sustainable feed to ensure the health and growth of our fish. Partnering with Biomar, a leader in innovative aquaculture feed solutions, we provide our Rainbow Trout with a diet that is nutritionally balanced and environmentally friendly. Biomar's feeds are formulated to support optimal fish health and growth while minimising environmental impact through sustainable sourcing and production practices. Biomar supports the UN sustainable development goals, therefore this partnership underscores our commitment to responsible aquaculture and the production of premium-quality Rainbow Trout.
At all six of our farms across Co. Kilkenny and Co. Wicklow, responsible water usage is fundamental to our sustainable operations and the health of our trout. We strive to ensure that the water we return to the river is of the same quality as when it was taken, meeting stringent environmental standards through advanced filtration and treatment processes. We are constantly exploring new innovations to improve our farming practices throughout the entire production cycle. Our commitment to maintaining optimal natural conditions for our fish is unwavering.During low-flow periods in the summer, we recirculate water to minimise impacts on the surrounding rivers, sustaining the best environment possible. These measures protect the river ecosystem and ensure our Rainbow Trout thrive in clean, oxygen-rich waters year-round.We implement the Global G.A.P. standard in both our farms and factory. GLOBAL G.A.P. Aquaculture sets a worldwide high standard for good practices at every stage of production. Their aim is to focus on animal and staff welfare, environmental and ecological care and most importantly food safety.
At Goatsbridge, we meticulously examine every aspect of our business, from product packaging and fish production to the logistics of delivering our high-quality Rainbow Trout to your plate. We are deeply committed to reducing our carbon footprint, and to this end, we have constructed a 200 kWh solar farm that significantly offsets our energy consumption with renewable power. Through these efforts, we strive to minimise our environmental impact and are dedicated to achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. This commitment underscores our dedication to sustainability and responsible aquaculture practices.
